Boron-alloyed steel

Boron-alloyed steels are intended for components requiring increased hardenability and improved heat treatment response at relatively low alloying levels.

Small additions of boron significantly enhance through-hardening capability, particularly in larger cross-sections, while maintaining good processing and forming characteristics.

The steels are suitable for quenching and tempering, hot forming, and controlled heat treatment processes where uniform hardness and strength distribution are required.

Typical applications include automotive safety components, wear-resistant parts, fasteners, agricultural equipment, and structurally loaded machine components.
