Quenching and tempering steels
Quenching and tempering steels are intended for components requiring a defined combination of strength, toughness, hardness, and wear resistance.
Their chemical composition and hardenability enable controlled heat treatment through quenching and subsequent tempering to achieve the required mechanical properties across different section sizes.
Depending on the alloying concept and delivery condition, the steels can provide improved machinability, through-hardening capability, and resistance to mechanical loading.
Typical applications include shafts, gears, axles, bolts, connecting rods, transmission components, and heavily loaded machine parts.
