Plastic moulding tool steel

Plastic mould steels are intended for the production of moulds used in injection, compression, and extrusion processing of polymers.

Their chemical composition and cleanliness are designed to provide good polishability, dimensional stability, machinability, wear resistance, and, depending on the grade, corrosion resistance.

The steels are suitable for machining, heat treatment, and surface finishing processes required in mould manufacturing.

Typical applications include mould cavities, cores, inserts, and other tooling components for polymer processing.
