Improved machinability steel
EXEM is a range of Štore Steel grades developed for manufacturers of machined components. Each grade fulfils the requirements of the corresponding EN standard and provides enhanced and consistent machinability, resulting in shorter machining time and lower cutting-tool consumption.
Why machinability matters?
Steel price is only one part of the cost of a machined component. Machine time, cutting-tool consumption and tool changes also have a direct impact. Enhanced machinability reduces the resources required for each component and increases the output achievable from existing machining equipment.

How its made?
Standard EN grade as the basis
Each EXEM steel corresponds to a defined EN steel grade.
Proprietary steelmaking process
The production process is engineered to modify the steel’s machinability properties while maintaining the requirements of the corresponding EN grade.
Controlled metallurgical characteristics
Chemical composition, inclusions and microstructure are controlled to support enhanced and consistent machining performance.
Modified standard grade as the result
