Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) Operator Assistant | Steel Plant

Responsibilities

• Assisting the EAF (Electric Arc Furnace) operator with furnace maintenance
• Operating an overhead travelling crane and carrying out lifting and transport operations within the designated work area
• Sending empty scrap charging baskets to the charge preparation area for loading
• Performing other tasks as instructed by the EAF operator or shift supervisor

Qualifications and expectations

• Level IV or V vocational or secondary technical education in one of the following fields: Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering
• Completed formal education is preferred but not a mandatory requirement
• Ability to work as part of a team, initiative and attention to detail
• Willingness to work shifts and undertake further training
